New Project(s) The University of Alabama at Birmingham UAB District Steam System (Project #080004) Request for Statement of Qualifications Engineering Design & Energy Developers
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) requests Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) from Engineering Design (ENGDES) firms and Energy Developer (ENDEV) firms interested in providing services for the UAB District Steam System project.
The ENGDES firms and ENDEV firms must have demonstrated recent experience in providing services utilizing the latest available technology for steam generation, co-gen, tri-gen, steam distribution systems and condensate recovery systems.
The selection of the ENGDES and ENDEV firms will occur in two phases. In Phase I, UAB will evaluate responses to the SOQ and rank the ENGDES and ENDEV firms. In Phase II, the three (3) top-ranked ENGDES and the three (3) top-ranked ENDEV firms will respond to a detailed Request for Proposal (RFP), which will be submitted to UAB for further evaluation and disposition.
The university engaged a professional consultant to develop a feasibility study relative to the UAB District Steam System. A definitive scope of work will be provided to the three (3) top-ranked ENGDES and three (3) top-ranked ENDEV firms at the time the RFP’s are issued.
The Project will consist of engineering design and energy developer services related to design, design/build, design/build/lease, design/build/operate or other viable concepts for the UAB District Steam System program. The estimated capital cost for this program is in the range of $90- 100,000,000.
The university encourages minority participation of 10% minimum for ENGDES and ENDEV firms providing services in this program.
